New Shout! [SPOILERS]

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 5:42 am

Those of you who have watched the new leaked tutorial of Skyrim will know what I'm talking about. When the Dragon arrives, it shouts and at first I thought it was stormcall. However, instead of lightning, meteors shower down from the sky! METEORS! :ahhh:

This shall be my favourite game of all time :tes:

Oh God, I hope dragon shouts aren't going to be game-breakingly powerful. Meteors falling from the sky, paralyze area-of-effect, and becoming indestructible by making yourself ethereal just just three of the ones we know about. I hope they won't be necessary to complete basic dungeons. In one video Dovahkiin uses his ethereal shout to get past a trap - I sure hope it's possible to do that without a shout.

And yes, I know this sounds negative, crucify me for it, etc, etc.

The powerful ones have a very long cooldown, and they are optional[you don't even have to unlock them]. You most likely won't find all the word walls with 1 character anyway.

How do you know this? I'm not doubting you as such, just curious, because I haven't noticed this.

I was amused that the dragon fus-ro-dahed the player right into a wall, and did no damage whatsoever.

How have I missed this video? Maybe I just didn't notice it. Or is it too cool not to be noticed?

They're not exactly looking to kill you off before you even start playing the game :dead:

Don't tell me not to.

It's either him or the mods. I know which one I would rather pick.

Really? Damn, has Bethesda really added a "story mode" level of difficulty (if you know what I mean)? Because I'd expect AT LEAST 1/4 of your health gone with that shout.

It probably will in a real dragon fight, this was just the tutorial.

in the demo todd was playing in Todd-mode meaning no cooldowns.

but in the menu you could read some of the cooldowns.

about the dungeons needing dragon shouts, not likely. You diddn't need acrobatics to pass the dungeons in oblivion or morrowind did you?

they will help more but not needed to complete them.

If you watch the rest of the leaked footage, most things (like spiders and bears) died in only a couple hits, yet the player took hardly any damage. My guess is that the difficulty was turned all the way down.
