"A New Source of Stalhrim" quest bug

As its my first post I just want to say Hi everyone!! and thanks for any help!!

Now, down to business. I, and hopefully not the only one, am not amused Bethesda!!
I purchased this new DLC (Dragonborn) with the excitement of being able to travel to Solstheim once more. I held back this excitement and made a new character to start fresh. Firstly, I leveled a little and then proceeded to complete the Dawnguard expansion to retrieve the Ancient Falmer Armour, Auriels Shield and Auriels Bow (love the three of these!!) before even beginning Dragonborn. Next, I held back temptation to travel to Solstheim and leveled my character to level 46 (no easy task unless your a regular player, alas, those days are behind me...unfortunately) to aquire the fully leveled unique katana, Dragonbane. I then searched high and low for a blacksmiths and enchanters elixir and progressed my smithing and enchanting skill trees to full to upgrade my weapons and armour literally to the max. I then, finally, decided to travel to Solstheim this morning, December 19th, two whole weeks after the release. Needless to say I swept through Solstheim quicker than a week-starved wolf on the hunt for it prey. However, I discovered after finishing the main quest line and about half way through the side quests that to make Stalhrim armours you must save the blacksmith of the Skaal. This has been rendered impossible as I discovered that it has bugged and I cannot speak to Deor Woodcutter, he just speaks passive NPC dialog when I interact with him (such as "The ash from the Red Mountain has made the land sick" and "What do you need" etc.) and cannot initiate a conversation with him. This is a huge downfall on my player experience and has somewhat dumped on the past two-weeks of squeezing in Skyrim wherever I can because the autosave is long gone and am not willing to spend another two weeks on building another character. I have read over the quest page on the Skyrim wikia and it tells us the bugs with this quest at the bottom of the page, unfortunately I did not see this before finishing the main quest line. Please Bethesda, fix this problem ASAP as I, and surely others, feel like were missing a big part of the game (unable to aquire the new, awesome looking, DLC armour). It's a little frustrating on level 51, however, I'm sure the people out there who have spent the time to reach level 81 that have encountered this bug are furious, I know I would be. Please Bethesda, I ask on behalf of myself and other people that have encountered this problem, please fix this as soon as you can.
Thank you Bethesda and passers-by for taking the time to read this extensive post,
