New Spells Only For Dawngaurd

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 12:35 am

Anyone else disappointed that you can only get the new restoration spells if you side with the dawngaurd? Bethesda could at least made them available at the college. Or am I being a complete idiot and they are for sale somewhere else?

On the destroying the Dawnguard quest use pacify and then just buy them as a Volkihar vampire. It is awesome, and now I am a vampire with sun spells.

Oh, no!!!! I wish I had gotten to you earlier!!! Well, the spells aren't the best anyway, just use Auriels bow and sunhallowed arrows. Same effect, just a little weaker...

Can you get Stendarr's Aura and Vampire's Bane and tons of crossbow bolts in this fashion as well?

Yup. The only thing you can't do is go on Dawnguard quests and forge your own, but it is pretty cool, anyway.

I'm not a fan of the exclusive items for each side thing, content wise it should be up for grabs on any character. No reason to exclude people in my eyes, the quests being different should be enough.

I personally like as much variation as possible though. There should be consequences for our actions. Infact, to me it feels wrong giving the Dawnguard a chance at becoming a Vampire Lord. Then again, just my opinion

Personally I think it makes sense in the circomstances, but I agree that the anti-undead spells are best when they are Dawnguard exclusive(they're not, you can still get them by calming the folks who sell them), like the Heal Undead spells are good as vampire only spells.

One option I wish we got was to kill Serana. Not because I have anyhitng against her, but because it would make sense as a vampire hunter to at least get the option.

Meh, I find it annoying that my character is limited and can't excel at a certain weapon type just because of a faction choice. The crossbows and the schematics to create them should have been a side quest, vampires didn't get spears or something.

I agree the restoration Mage in Winterhold should sell them as well

They are the center of magic in skyrim and should hold all the knowledge

Just a minor thing though

You get the undead equivalent of 'healing hands' in the dungeon you find Serana. You can buy the undead version of 'heal other' from a vampire merchant.

The dawnguard exclusive ones are the undead version of firebolt, fireball and the stendarr's aura spell.

They both get exclusive spells, I don't think dawnguard members can get the undead 'heal other' spell.
