New Vegas Interiors Project Poll ....come one come all

The NVInteriors Project Poll

Hi all

My esteemed colleague Cev and I have some questions, due to the fact, assets  from Dead Money are amazing and we are chomping at the bit to use them... not to mention adding more content to the Sierra Madre as well. Being thoughtful gents we are worried about isolating potential users, so here's your chance to let us know what your thinking.

For this poll I have used DLC instead of Dead Money for setting up the questions...just in case we get even more great new assets with the future DLC's

Thank you for your time

Got a question/observation for you....

Basically your project is going to make new interiors inside a lot of those buildings we can't go in, correct?

If you change the interior of an existing building with an interior, does it automatically make that
incompatible with every other mod that changes or adds something to that same interior?

For example....you remove a garbage can from inside McCarren AFB, does that now make that mod, (the removed McCarren Garbage Can Mod)
incompatible with every other mod that changes or adds something to the inside of McCarren?

The reason I ask, because I was thinking, I went to the Restaurant in McCarren, and yea, it's 200 or something years after the bombing,
but does it mean that people have turned into total slobs?

Look at the restaurant the next time you're in McCarren, it's a pig-sty, cans all over the floor, junk everywhere,
you'd think that if people were going to run a business, especially a business where people would be eating,
they'd clean the area up.....

So I guess that's my 'roundabout way of asking, are you also considering cleaning up some of the interiors like that?

P.S. Raul is kind of a slob too..... :vaultboy:
P.P.S. Like Trudy's Bar, she's got one storage room and the shelves are busted and everything is just strewn about,
I would think she'd tidy up the entire place instead of leaving that storage closet such a mess.
P.P.P.S. Monster? Energy drinks make me think of some really stupid stuff at 3 in the morning.....

First I want to point out that it's rather difficult to reply to a question phrased with "or" by using yes or no. My reply to question number 2 could be "Yes, I'll buy DLCs" or "Yes, I'll wait for the GOTY version". You may want to rephrase that.

I've waited for the GOTY versions of Oblivion and of Fallout3, I actually waited for a few months after they were released, so that prices went down a little bit. The main reason I do it that way is that it gives me reason to play the game again after I've played it with vanilla and with mods.

Sure, make it to DLC too, but it would be better if you finished all the interiors to the regular game first. And please dont do so people need the DLC's to play it. :)

Use DLC assets, but make them separate and optional plugins. That's the tried and true way other mods have done it :)

That's a short summary, but yes

If you change the interior of an existing building with an interior, does it automatically make that

This may not be the best answer but here goes. If you have two or twenty mods that either change, delete, move, etc. the same things, yes there will be conflicts and/or compatibility issues, but I think the mod thats lowest in the load order wins out so to say.

The reason I ask, because I was thinking, I went to the Restaurant in McCarren, and yea, it's 200 or something years after the bombing,
but does it mean that people have turned into total slobs?

Cleaning up vanilla cells hadn't crossed my mind, and I don't know if it's a good idea...conflict wise.

Of course I can't speak for Cev but I don't believe that's what he has in mind either...and I can't remember seeing a vanilla interior he changed in DCInteriors.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that cleaning up some of the cells like McCarren isn't a good idea (it is) I think there is a mod out there for McCarren though. It's just not in the works for NVInteriors as of now.

Thanks for your reply Occam's Razor

I didn't mean to confuse, sorry about that.
Question 2 really is just a gage for us to see how many people will be getting the DLC's, it doesn't matter be it through downloading them or buying GOTY edition.

Thanks to everyone for your input thus far, and keep it coming guys, gals, and ghouls

OK, I was just curious, it just seemed strange to me, that people in the game would just
leave rusty tin cans all over the floor, broken shelves, tipped over tables etc, in their homes and places of business.

I'm just glad there's going to be more buildings to explore, I hope there's fun stuff to find, and/or a few surprises

Oh, separate thread. I voted No, Maybe, second option.
Although with choosing second option first question could have been a yes

But, I'm in the optional crowd. Even if I don't get the DLC I'd like to be able to use this mod, still.

There will be tones of new, fun little surprises. I've only kept the more Generic unique clutter from DCInteriors, you'll find many new collectables such as Lionel train sets, several different types of Tonka Toys, all new "Never ben seen" pormo magazines and, much, much, more. :celebration:

If your older than 20 this mod should fill you with quite a bit of childhood nostalgia! (not bashing the younger gamers, (No offense intended!) just saying, us, the old folks, who had real toys, such as the original GI Joe Dolls, steal and, tin toys, should get a bit of a chuckle out of my efforts.)

Megas blocks are better, there way cheaper and they look better but there are also less modular.

First I want to say thank you to everyone who's voted and left us your thoughts, keep them coming guys :goodjob:

It's pretty loud and clear so far, you guys want us to use the Dead Money assets in a separate add-on pack.

Thanks again for your time and ideas

I was using the term "tin toys" loosely. I was referring to most of the toys you mentioned but, didn't you mean "Radial Flyer?" and Yes, I remember Howdy Doody but do you remember "Clutch Cargo and, his pals Spinner and, Paddle foot?" (not a toy but, one of the most classic cartoons ever produced, Mostly, Nothing but still images with a real persons lips stripped in to make them move! Simply Classic.)

Ahh, tinker toys --- those, and mokeys in a barrel were kept in a box at my grandparent's place for me to play with whenever we visited. Good times!

I've expanded a bit, I've already created a populated Boulder city, now I'm working on a more populated Cottonwood Cove. Once I finish the Cove I'll have a proper release. :celebration:
