I assume this version won't work with the Steam download version of New Vegas?

Hmmmm, I don't see it in the Tools section on Steam.

The website link still shows for Fallout3_GECK.

Am I blind?

It's the same program -- fully compatible with the Steam version.

Might need to control-F5 on your browser to refresh. It's there!

Alright. That's great to know. I thought for some reason you had to get the one off of Steam in order to use it with the Steam download. Silly me.

Anyways, I can't wait to start modding and I can't wait to make a "Mods for New Vegas" folder in my Documents folder. :fallout:

1. General Issues

*****************************************************************

The Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK) allows you to edit and create content
for Fallout: New Vegas.

Fallout: New Vegas is required to create and play content created with
The Garden of Eden Creation Kit.

The New Vegas Edition of GECK is not compatible with Fallout 3.

It is strongly recommended that you have at least 2 GB of RAM to use
the Heightmap Editing feature, and for any world and level building.

Limited user accounts will not be able to use the GECK. You must
have administrative rights.

The GECK will occasionally appear to hang or lock up while
attempting to exit. Wait 5 minutes. If it still hasn't closed, press
CTRL-ALT-DEL and manually END TASK on the application.

Visit http://geck.gamesas.com for the latest documentation and tutorials, and our
official forums at http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/.

so can this Geck co-exist with the FO3 Geck? Or are there going to be registry conflicts and such?

nope, not for us Europeans, steam has it hidden.

It'll show up Friday, me thinks.

And yet, that doesn't really matter when it's on the gamesass DL page :)

Thanks Nick :)

Nice, the new NVEdit has revealed the Master, BSA Commander has revealed the assets and now the GECK reveals the magic.

We have the tools to start. It is indeed a great day. :)

I'm going in...

Wow... Trying to find the new Dialogue Editor, I tried the old Filtered Dialogue view and it just sat there, chugging away for over a minute (on a Duo 3.16 GHz CPU, SSD) - when it came-to, there is SO MUCH dialogue that the scroll bar is like the width of a human hair - lol.

Not Quite that small, but damn close.

The GamePlay bar has the new Hunger, Thirst and other hardcoe settings - easy to find, neat!

Still looking.

Its - wow.. investigating.

The new dialogue editor is not intuitive out the gate. It allows us to "Load a Conversation" as its key menu option, and then offers several sub-options for filtering the load. I haven't been able to figure out how to make sense of it just yet, and the colors of the different text are not clear. We're going to have to do some serious GECKulating or begging to figure this out.

The Factions editor is more advanced now, definitely more used (thousands of entries) - I can really see how they made faction interaction super complex. I can just imagine the Logic Tree they must have back the shop somewhere that shows all this!

Heheh yeah I'm gonna need real help here Andy!! And your the Best man for it too - no one will see you coming, no one will see you leave or even know you were there. ;)

Ack. I'm so jealous. My CE is riding around town in the back of a UPS truck and I can't play or get in the GECK yet. It sounds like you are having soooo much fun. :celebration:

Yeah its a little frightening. I've dreamed about this day for so many months now, I don't know what to do. My instincts are screaming at me that I should be PLAYING THE GAME! But still I am drawn to all of this as the month to a flame, I can't stop digging in.

I suppose the bright side is that I've put in several hours and already Love the game, so now its like a fine wine that I want to enjoy for as long as I possibly can. :)

Back to surgery!
