Newb questions about setups and other things

Post » Thu Feb 25, 2010 5:03 am

I've been away from first person shooters for years and decided to pick up Crysis 2 because it sounded like my kind of game. It is. I (obviously) play on the PS3 and my K/D ratio is so pathetic I'm not going to list it.

I'm wondering at what controller sensitivity some of you vets have your setting?

Also, about using the dog tag kill streak support bonuses, I've only gotten orbital strike twice and I was wondering how do you use the in game map I see on videos to highlight the path you want it to take? I know you press right on the D-pad but do you hold it down or pull up select or what? I was never able to aim it and just learned of this feature today.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
OG-Thrace

once the orbital strike screen comes up, use your left anolog stick to move it around the map and the right anolog stick to change the direction of the strike and press 'X' to deploy it..

If you dont like full blast sensitivity then go between 40 and 50 it works for me and for orbital press right on d-pad then a map shows everyones pos. the press x when ready.

Thank you all so much for your replies and I would definitely still like to hear what controller sensitivities people are using. I'm currently at 40 but didn't know if I was being too conservative.

This is my really my first FPS in a while as well, the only other was the original Halo. I have managed to max the suit and reach level 34, but my KDR is pitiful. I have my sensitivity at 30, it prevents me from shooting myself in the back of the head. :-) I didn't realize you could aim the orbital strike. Thanks for asking the question.

If you want to improve your K/D I'd be more concerned about what suit modules you are using, rather than worrying about ur sensitivity. Go with whats comfortable, there is no "right answer" with sensitivity.

Taking full advantage of the suits powers will give you the ability to beat the fastest twitchiest twitch shooter kids 9 times out of 10....unless ofcourse the lag is heavily against you

Another quick question. If I pick up a 3 dog tags and die does the support bonus at least carry on to the next life?

Also, to the above poster, I am still experimenting with different perks to fine tune my play style. I also just learned that you can switch builds in game after a death if I'm using an inappropriate build for the board/game type. That helps a lot.

Thanks

Couldn't you see that the support bonus is still there at the bottom left of your screen, telling you to press on the right direction button?
