Next beta invites?

Post » Tue Nov 26, 2013 9:26 pm

I was reading through the posts, and found one stating that they were waiting for the next beta invite. Does that mean there will be more? Where can I go to apply? I am not referring to the one that happened this weekend, I mean any that may come up in the future.

Thank you

If you have already put in an application you have already signed up. There isn't a new signup for each phase.

There will be more. Check the main eso website for signups.

Now traditionally, December can be a really terrible time for betas, as even staff in the computer games industry wants time off. Between thanksgiving, the december holidays and New Year's, that leaves, well, very little. Often there isn't time to put together a new build and set up all the stuff for (and schedule for) testing. So it may be a bit before the next beta test. Or possibly not, as other studios have bucked this trend in the past (and currently, as Wildstar is gearing up for a big december playtest)

Given past experience, I don't think we will see anything in the way of another closed beta, or even any more substantive information till after the holidays are over.

Anything they might do to try to stir up more hype about the game will get lost in the noise of all the stuff releasing for christmas.

My uneducated guess would be early February.

I actually would guess a quick one or two around early-mid December which is when I have finals...other than that. Not till January.

Unless they are looking for a stress test on the servers.

I feel guilty not being part of the beta but I don't have time to sign up. I trust my opinions to be the very best - and tactful. I've been in betas that were nothing more than belligerent troll cages. I really hope the people who signed on are giving good reports and taking the beta seriously. And being polite.

Early december isn't really viable. One just ended, and very likely most of the staff isn't going to be in for at least half of this week. That gives them maybe a week to put together a new build and set everything up. That isn't really worth testing. The weekend of the 21st will be a big travel weekend, with lots of people away from home (especially for a large chunk of the more...enthusiastic beta testers), so that isn't any good. Maybe the 14th, I guess, but they still won't have a lot of time to go over the feedback from the test that just happened, make changes, check the overall stability and put together a good beta package with viable guidleiines. The weekend of the 28th of december looks more reasonable to me, if they bother with december at all.

Maybe. However they could do a more focused test to hammer out the problems with a certain system.

If they do a focused test you won't see more invites going out for it.

Yeah, I think so too - sometime in December. I saw on the official ESO site that the last two beta events prior to November's event, took place August 13 and September 4th - three weeks apart.
