Title pretty much says it all.

Vanilla game had silver swords, but you couldn't upgrade them at a grindstone, or forge new ones from silver ingots. I think that should be amended.

And the same should be with gold as well. I think decorated and gilded weapons and armor would be aesthetically enjoyable.

Gold for weapons? gold is heavy as [censored] and unreliable. its the last type of material that comes to mind when creating fighting gear. the only reason people make weapons out of gold is to usually display it. not smash skulls with it, cause it'll break.

I never fully played Morrowind but aside from the name are we sure its made out of gold? don't forget its of Daedric origins.

I could be wrong about daedric origins but its definitely not a normal golden sword.

Which is why you'd use a sturdier metal for the base of the weapon and the gold to add decoration. Kinda like the Gilded Sword in Zelda Majora's Mask, or the Ebony weapons and armor from Oblivion, which had gold trim/embroidery.

Well Goldbrand is an artifact created by Dragons so I suppose even if it's golden it won't break or anything.
It also contains Daedric power.

I was just being siwwy. But it being of Daedric origin is probably why it doesn't seem to have the traditional traits that gold would. Well, cept for the weight. IIRC 45 maybe 50 pounds. Lawl.

You know, platinum would also be a good material to have to smith with. Or even diamond-tipped weapons.

Overall, next DLC should work on aesthetic quality. Gilding, jewel encrusting, etc. Bling baby.
