I have been having a problem all day with Skyrim Nexus, I have tried to download a couple mods today and every mod I download gives me an error message that I need to come back after the mod has been posted for an hour. However most mods Ive been trying to download have been up since early this morning. I have tried downloading several different mods and all give the same error message. Most are dawnguard based mods, but others are not and are retextures of vanilla armor so I'm not sure whats up, its very annoying and i've tried to be patient with it all day however it seems to have not changed

has anyone else been having this issue and does anyone have any suggestions?

I was having the same issue yesterday, sometimes getting the message you refer to, and other times it was just timing out when trying to ready my download.

I did get the mod I wanted after a while of trying, all I can suggest is that you go and do something else for a bit and try again later. I was in exactly the same position yesterday, but I did get it to work after a bit of a break, maybe their servers are just busy what with Dawnguard being released - a lot of people will have been waiting for it to come out before playing again and will have a list of mods they want to download for their new game.

I know, I spent most of yesterday tearing my hair out about not being able to download anything. It svcks, but I can only assume that their servers are really busy and can only handle so much traffic.

I finally managed to get the mod I wanted, I think it was after the time that most of the US had gone to bed - it might be worth trying at a time when it's not going to be so busy - which of course tends to be later at weekends. Easy enough for me in the UK, first thing in the morning here is usually fairly quite for most things on the internet as the US is largely asleep!

Please don′t talk about Nexus here . If you have a problem with the Skyrim Nexus go there and ask for help.
The Nexus is the worst modding community anyways . The moderators there are the most arbitrary ****** in the internet. They ban even for asking normal questions.

Abice, did you try a different server? I sometimes have very different results if I try a different one.

I don't see the word 'moderator' under your avatar. And sorry, but you have 9 posts and you're telling other more established users what they can and can't talk about? If this discussion is not allowed here, then I am sure a moderator will come along and say so, and lock the thread. I have never knowingly broken the rules of these forums - and to the moderators, if my participation in this discussion is in any way against the rules, I humbly apologise and won't do it again, if that is the case I didn't realise that this is a prohibited topic for discussion. At the very least I do not allude to swearing in my posts by using a string of asterisks. I fail to see what, if anything, I might have done wrong here - someone asked a question, and I answered it politely to the best of my ability. If I was wrong for doing that, then I apologise.

well what do you use for modding then? I don't know anything else to use and I was having an issue with it, I dont really go on there forums i'd rather stick to this one


I haven't tried most are premium and they pick a server automatically, a couple arent like that so Ill give it a try

Use the Nexus, there is no other site that rivals it in terms of the sheer number of mods hosted there. The user who posted that reply must have some gripe with the moderators there, which perhaps s/he should take up with them, rather than bringing the issue here and trying to put people off using the site. It's a great resource.

however switching servers did not work I will have to wait until tomorrow i think there all dawnguard mods I downloaded mods that had been up for awhile and they worked no problem

I do just think it's that they've been having higher than usual traffic since the Dawnguard PC release and their servers aren't able to cope with that much traffic at one time.

The mod I was trying to download when I encountered this issue, I could see the number of downloads going up by a large amount every time I tried, so obviously a lot of people were able to download it - and eventually I got it too. Just keep trying, you'll get it eventually.

Edit: which mod are you having trouble with? I can try it from here, and let you know whether I am also having issues, if that would help?

I've actually been having download issues for a few days now, the site as a whole has gone from being very quick to very... Sluggish. Coming from a premium member, I don't know what the issue is. This is all prior to the Dawnguard release as well. +10 seconds to load a page, files downloading at 80 kb/s... Normally things are fast and I download at 2 MB/s.. So I don't know.

Right click and open the download in a new window, then I just try different servers until it works.
(Open in new window since some smaller files would otherwise try to auto-connect and download without you being able to choose a location manually.)

Yeah I had a look at revamped vampire lord, and the enhanced crossbow mod, and I too am just getting either the 'wait for it to propogate to our servers' message or it's timing out whilst trying to connect me to the server for download. I can't do much to help, other than to confirm that it's not just you, which hopefully might be some small comfort
