Bash works with NMM, it's just not integrated in to NMM. So you can use Bash no problem :)

Ah - thank you very much - what Bash will need is probably an API for downloading mods/checking for updates - installing them and managing them is already err covered :)

Ok folks we've just released version 0.12.2 which is a bug fix update. If you were having trouble running NMM before, please try now.

NMM should inform you if there's a new version when you run it, and offer to download and install it as well (saves you going to a specific page for every update).

If you have installed NMM and it crashes before allowing you to auto-update please go to http://tesnexus.com/content/modmanager/ and use the download button. No need to uninstall your current copy, just go through the setup process again and you'll get the latest version.

I'd also like to say a big thank you to everyone who has used our http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/tracker/project-3-mod-manager-open-beta/. Not only that you've bothered to use it, but that you've all provided exactly the feedback and log files we've needed. It makes a tremendous difference when the bug reports we get have exactly what we need to tell us what's wrong so we can fix it. So a big thank you again :)

News from the sites:

We have just released the latest update to the Nexus Mod Manager, 0.12.3. This is a bug fix patch that should help to resolve some of the problems that users have been experiencing so far.

If you load NMM (and can get to the mod management screen) then NMM will automatically tell you there's a new version and offer to download it for you. Simply follow the setup process and NMM will be updated. If you haven't been able to access NMM up until now, or you haven't got it at all, head on over to our NMM download page to grab the latest version.

I'd like to thank all the people who have posted up bug reports in our http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?app=tracker&showproject=3 so far. Not just for bothering to let us know, but for providing us with exactly the feedback we asked for so we could resolve your issues (e.g. the crashdump files!). It's great when we can rely on lots of users to provide us with useful feedback, and the more useful the feedback, the more quickly we can patch bugs and get working on new functionality.

Here's the bug fixes for version 0.12.3:

  • Crash when activating Skyrim ArchiveInvalidation (http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/tracker/issue-126-skyrim-archive-invalidation-issue/)
  • Crash when a URL in a mod is not in a recognized format (http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/tracker/issue-129-crash-on-startup-too-many-mos/)
  • Crash when a game executable is missing.
  • Crash when a file being downloaded does not exist.
  • Downloads not starting when the download button on the Nexus sites is used.
  • Crash when the download button on the Nexus sites is used. (http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/tracker/issue-99-service-not-found/)
  • Crash in Windows 8. (http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/tracker/issue-132-arithmetic-operation-resulted-in-an-overflow/)
  • Crash when Install Info and Mods folders are chosen to be in a UAC protected folder. (http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/tracker/issue-136-crash-on-startup/)

I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive about using this. I had no end of problems with getting the last few versions of FOMM to even function...even made a few threads requesting assistance with it, but no one was able to help.

I can happily report that I can at least get it to function without it spitting out errors at me. I have not yet attempted to install mods with it though, so no comments on that yet.
