Did not realize that the Bronco's played Thursday Night? Stupidest night for a game if you ask me. Anyway, I think San Diego has a chance to upset the apple cart in Denver, but, get Reggie off his game and he will fall apart having a conniption fit.

CCNA, at the time of this post your post count was palindromic.

Anyways, a lot of people dislike it including players and coaches. It's just another money grab by the NFL to push their own network. They have contracts with Fox, CBS, and NBC to air X amount of games a season (without blackout rules applying) but reserve the right to hold X amount of games on their own network. Why? Because the NFL gets a share of money from the cable companies from people who subscribe to their network. Money on top of the contract that they get paid from the current networks who air their games.

The NFL is the greediest league in the western hemisphere, possibly the world. They monetize everything. Blackout rules are a part of that. The game needs to be a sellout for it not to be blacked out in the local home market. Forces fans to buy tickets so everyone else can watch the game at home.

Have you seen some of the crap with the Super Bowl this year?

No tailgating allowed (but we are allowing you to sit in your car and eat a sandwich and drink beer). No lounge chairs outside of cars whatsoever, no grills, nothing. Also there are only 13,000 available parking spots (which is a ton of crap, they obviously took a bunch away) and they charge $150 for it. Though if you don't park there, you can park at a satellite parking location for less and then be shuttled to the game...for a small fee of $51. Also you are not allowed to walk to the game.

And yet, that place will be sold out and packed by tons of people. Unfortunately, none of them will really be fans.

The worst part about it all is that they continue to do this and it gets worse every year, and they keep making record profits every year, attracting more and more fans who would will be willing to go deep into dept just to watch a football game (and for some people, that is true).

I remember when Lincoln Financial Field was built in Philadelphia. It totally changed the fanbase that goes to the games. Season ticket holders HAVE TO buy the PSL's, even if they don't plan on using them or can't use them due to the Eagles not making the playoffs (which the money can only be credited to season tickets the following year). I went to an Eagles-Giants game this year, sat a few rows from the top, in the northern endzone. $70. Parking was $40 and it wasn't even an official parking lot (though I think they were getting me because the game had already started and they only had a few spots left so the attendents were jacking the price and pocketing).

I didn't bother to buy beer. You used to be able to bring food into the stadiums so long as you had it in a bag and were willing to have it searched. Not anymore.

One thing about New York, at least they have a decent Mass Transit system. Wonder how the Giants and Jets games handle the crowds (same number of people go to regular games as Superbowls as far as fans). Although, there are probably more personnel at a Superbowl as opposed to a regular game.

What I worry about is a storm or a blizzard that weekend. Fairly common for that time of year in the area.
