Nice looking character

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 1:33 pm

In oblivion, whenever i made a character, i wasn't able to make a nice looking character. I enjoy playing sixy female wood elves :hubbahubba: . In skyrim, are we gonna be able to make sixy looking character?

Apparently the random button in oblivion was meant to be called "the ugly button" according to Todd.

The character customization has been simplified, but I'm not sure about body composition...

They have completely revamped the engine, and one of the main complaints they listened to was the generic "ugly" looking faces and characters from Oblivion. So yes, you can make a good looking character.

The more you practiced at it, the better you got at it. I assume it will be the same in Skyim. I personally svcked at it, mainly because I didn't care.

If you spent more than five minutes, you could make a decent-looking, or better, character in Oblivion. It just took some effort and attention to the sliders and face.

Regardless, it should be easier in Skyrim to make faces that look better. Not only because the faces look better in general, but also because the system is easier.

Should be less of a problem for the player AND the computer to make "sixier" characters with this game. That's a relative term, but sure...why not.

It was hard to create a properly good looking character, even after tinkering with the sliders. Seems like they've made a huge improvement in that area with Skyrim. Characters just look so real, and by being near photorealistic they are anything but ugly.

Actually it took a looong time to learn because of one ultra annoying thing. Some sliders changed the rest of the face, affecting other sliders. Meaning you would have to memorize and backtrack alot.

You had to use the CS to create a decent looking character in Oblivion, the in game create-a-mutant was pretty much useless.

This is what I don't understand. Did all of you set the complexion bar all the way to the right instead of the left?

I was able to create decent (even beautiful) characters.

Always to the left, it made no difference, everything was just horrible in Chargen.

Well, let's see how we look in Skyrim but I am anxious to try better bodies/better faces mods as soon as they are ready for TES5.

I could not ever get them to look good. Then I got a mod that put numbers on the sliders and then used some example faces. Once I got an idea of what looks good, now I can create decent looking faces myself. You don't need the values, slider positions can be enough, or guess based on the value given.

For those who can't or won't mod their facegen, here is a site that has some slider values on it, some even have pics of the sliders so you can kind of figure out where to set them

http://www.zyworld.com/redwoodtreesprite/Oblivion/Heads/OblivionFacesHome.htm

Of course, this is for Oblivion and Skyrim should be similar. Now, as the slider count dropped in Fallout/NV, you may want to Google "Fallout Faces" to find examples if the face gen is streamlined like it was in the Fallout games. However, once you copy and build a couple yourself to look like these, then you can more easily get what you want from scratch.

In Oblivion, I eventually was able to make characters look good, it's hard not to make them ugly though.

Even with Khajiit, I found the preset normal looks of Khajiit ugly and found a way to make them look better :D

Likely it will be hard to make someone Ugly in Skyrim. Huzzah! :D
