This is probably old but I couldn't find a topic on it. The VGA's just aired over here tonight in my country. Did anyone else rage and immediately hate Niel as a host after his reaction to Skyrim? I seriously couldn't stand him for the rest of the show...

Also Bethesda wasn't at least nominated as best studio :glare:

After the Skyrim trailer he just looks around confused and goes "Oh..well... that was cool." And then goes on to tell stupid non-funny jokes.

Well fair enough if you don't like his humour, but he's not obliged to be supremely excited about Skyrim, is he?

BGS didn't release any games in 2010, that's probably a prerequisite for the category.

No I don't think he should. But if he's the host of the VGA's he could of at least tried to look excited.

maybe he doesn't care? as hard as it may be to believe, swords and sorcery are still technically nerdy as hell, and the Skyrim announcement pretty much summoned up every dramatic cliche fantasy trope ever.

also Bethesda didn't actually DO anything this year apart from publish New Vegas and hype a bunch of stuff so it's not actually surprising they didn't win best studio.

honestly i prefer hosts who don't try to [censored] and act surprised about every little thing.

Why do people keep bringing up this "200 years after Oblivion" stuff? Bethesda has not confirmed Skyrim to take place after the Infernal City so far.

Because the book originally came with a quickly removed release statement saying it will bridge the gap between Oblivion and the next game, set 200 years in the future.

It's not definite, but it's highly suggestive.

I agree with this. At least he was being honest. If there was a poll, I guarantee Skyrim would probably be the highlight of VGAs for most gamers.

I do agree that he was a TERRIBLE host....Example...at e3 all those hosts show SOME excitement and actually care about the gaming world...he on the other hand should be exiled from the gaming community.

I probably would have done something similar. Bottled it up, gone backstage, let out a scream, then go back out on stage back to being cool and collected.

To be honest, the trailer itself wasn't exciting in any possible way. The only exciting thing is that the trailer exists, and we know when there will be a new game and that it's in skyrim. If you would've never played the previous elder scrolls games, then why would you be excited?

NPH is a god amongst men.

Im kinda surprised he wasnt excited though. I always though of him as a major geek, oh well.
