Nif File Color help with recolor

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:46 pm

I want to use the effect which uses the file FXDA16BarrierDoor.nif which is a blue field. Could some one help me change it to a red of the same look ?

I have little knowledge of nif files, I looked at nif scope but am not really sure how to altar this file ...

Thanks a million for any help...

Find out what texture(s) is being used by the door by opening it in NifSkope and looking around at all the properties. It should give you a directory and file name. Now unpack all of the textures in FOMM, and go to the directory indicated. Open the .dds file in GIMP 2.80 (after installing the .dds plugin) and go to Colors -> Color Balance. Now you can adjust the color using the sliders. Save your new file in a folder under Textures in your skyrim data folder. Go back into the CK and edit the door, go into the World Model or whatever, and you should be able to select the parts you want and select your texture.
