NifSkope - copying a texture set from one NIF to another

As the title says. I'm having trouble in doing it, due to how noob I'm with this thing [also, what's with NifSkope automatically saving the file without asking for user confirmation?]. I'm basically trying to make a fern into a harvestable plant, I'm at the point where I have the harvestable plant almost perfectly functional in the game but it's invisible due to the missing texture set. Here's what I'm doing:

- open two instances of NifSkope, one with a vanilla harvestable plant [floraspikygrass01.nif] and one with my plant [swordferncluster06.nif]
- copy the NiTriShapeData block from swordferncluster06.nif into floraspikygrass01.nif
- rename the BSLeafAnimNode and BSLODTriShape nodes to match the original swordferncluster06.nif

Now, when I manage to do the same with the BSLightingShaderProperty, even though the branches in NifSkope are exactly the same [save for the bhkCollisionObject I'm borrowing from floraspikygrass01.nif], the fern is invisible both in the CK and in the game. What's wrong?
