I heard the Nightingale bow's damage depends what level you are?

When is the best time to receive the bow?

I think it caps at level 47, but am not 100% about that.

Either way a daedric bow is better of you level smithing.

It caps at 46+ so any level after this and it wont improve any more.

I thought that the Nightingale bow, like the Daedric one was also upgradeable once the Arcane Blacksmith perk was purchased?

And take the perks, and find the ebony, and..... True.. I agree with the levelling smithing idea.. did it for a few characters. But I decided only to take two perks in Smithing this playthrough (steel and arcane) and leave the others where they lay.

You need to be 46+ to get the highest level of the Nightingale Bow. It can be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk. I personally found no reason to wait so long to get it. With the double enchant and the ability to improve it through smithing it was more than powerful enough to still be using it late into the game. I never felt a need for anything more powerful even at 50+.
