Former Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi died today, the man whom is recognized for turning Nintendo from a simple playing card manufacturer to the video game giant we know of in the past 30 years. He started his career with Nintendo, taking over for his grandfather while he was still attending college and succeeded him as President. His views and methods, though not initially received well by those within the company (he fired many long-time employees if they didn't fall in line with his ways), he was able to gain the leading edge in video game entertainment for the company in the early 80's. He created competing departments to help develop new products in the electronics market, and had the foresight to see what people would want in a home entertainment system. His methods implemented with the vision and ideas of what the video game industry would turn into led Nintendo to be what we know it is today.

"I'm Sorry Mario but the Princess is in another castle, in the sky. Enjoy and R.I.P."

This comment is perfect. There's not much else I can say outside of this quote.
