Nord ties to Norse Mythology and History

I'm pretty well familiar with Norse mythology and history. I'm trying to piece the puzzle together.

We have landlord warrior Jarls like they did. What Norse God would be equivelent to Talos? I was thinking the closest would be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldr, he was a person of peace and love, then killed, and his rebirth is a significant event after Ragnaraok. And I forgot the word they use in the game for Ragnarok....they should just say Raganarok, but oh well. We also got longships, the architecture, the honor of battle....but in Norse mythology, battle was done to please some of the Norse Gods, haven't seen any relation to this with the Nords. If anyone comes up with anything, it will help me appreciate the story more.

HROTHGAR HROTHGAR HROTHGAR! (Beowulf)

The name Ysmir reminds me of Ygdrasil, the world tree.
