Nord title help...

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:19 am

My first character on skyrim will be a nord, I have a back story already made for him but I need help on something. I have decided to have his first name as Vidkun (because I don't want to be a copy with Thor) and I need help deciding and thinking on a fitting title for him, preferably based around werewolves, as in I wish to become one, the back story is posted below, only read it if you want to, it might help think of one.

Name: Vidkun *Insert Title Here*
Race: Nord
Occupation: Blacksmith
Appearance: Tall, and muscular. Longish dark brown hair, with a beard, blue eyes. Has battle scars, possibly war paint (to be decided)
Age: Between 18 and 25
Alignment: Good
Personality: He is the generic warrior type, cocky in battle, vulgar, but he is good. He is generous and respectful to those who are to him, doesn't tolerate violence towards him from anyone. He tries to do as little as possible for as much gold as possible.
Primary Skills: One-Handed (Longswords and Shortwords) | Block | Heavy Armour | Smithing
Secondary Skills: Two-Handed (Claymores) | Conjuration | Destruction | Restoration

He will be a Norse Warrior, that uses mainly swords/shields/ and the occasional spell or two. He was born, bred and grew up in Falkreath until his early teen years. At this time the village he grew up in became under attack by a dragon, the dragon slayed his mother, father, brother and sister right before his eyes, as he escaped with the help of a stranger, he manages to escape he turns and looks as the place he once grew up is burnt to the ground. The stranger who helped him escape was no-one other than Esbern, one of the last remaining blades. From that day forward, he swore to himself to not stop untill he put and end to the dragon who stole his family, friends, and his hometown away from him, the dragon is also known as Alduin the world eater. Esbern takes him away to the city of Whiterun where he spend the remainder of his years as a teenager and adolescent. In the course of a year he went on traveling and exploring the world of Skyrim, until one day he visits Eastmarch. He previously worked his way up to the rank of Guildmaster in the Companions guild, soon after he receives a contract in regards to receiving the High King of Skyrim's head, as the king has become corrupt and needs silencing. The High King of Skyrim is assassinated by him which results in the imprisonment of him, and the planning of his execution.

Vidkun the beardless?

Vidkun the smelly?

Vidkun the flamboyant?

That's really all I have at the moment.

Vidkun the Forgemaster. :spotted owl:

Not very "werewolfy" or complex, but hey...it goes with your Blacksmith profession.

That sounds really cool, actually. You could also interchange the tongue part for something else if you wanted, such as forest, tooth, or claw.

Hmm what sounds better, Vidkun Silver-Tooth, or Vidkun Silver-Tongue, both of these sound cool I think

Silver-Tooth if your rough-and-tough. Silver-Tongue if you're not so rough-and-tough.

Well first off theirs http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Nord_Names#Nord_Titles From which you can gather some idea of the words they use in the titles. I always thought that the Nord titles were something that came about Some kind of community ceremony. And generally something ironic that speaks to the character of the person receiving the title.

for example my own Nord that I'm making in Skyrim. is going to be named Hildburh the Wind-Wolf. Why? Because all the men in the village she was born in said the wind smelled like a wolf when ever she was downwind!

I prefer Silver-Tongue personally.

For my Nord it'll be Cloude of (Insert Town Here)
Haven't decided on where yet.

By the way, does anyone know if Nords have to have a title? I haven't played Oblivion in awhile but I seem to remember them all having one. If the answer is no then I just wont have one :P

Vidkun the Stout-Hearted

See the thing is, aside from the topic of werewolves. I though the title Stone-Heart sounded like it fitted well with Vidkun, but the problem is, someone that is stone-hearted is someone that doesn't care for others etc my character will be a good guy but he doesn't take sh** from anyone :P

EDIT: So it doesn't really make sense to have it

Vidkun, monster of the zodiac, would make sense since hes a werewolf.
or Vidkun, terror of the night, Vidkun the night-howler.
