Nordic Crafting Requirments

Post » Thu Dec 06, 2012 8:01 am

I searched the forum but couldn't find a definite answer. I heard that you need to complete the Companions quest-line, but is that true? My character isn't associated with the Companions. What do I need to get the Nordic weapons/armor crafting? I haven't started the Dragonborn DLC yet and Bonemold is already on the list but not Nordic. Thanks for the help!

You don't have to finish the Companions questline. My character hasn't (although he has started it) and the armour is available in the smithing menu. As for the exact requirements I'm afraid I don't know.

Ah, advanced armour perk, I see ^^

Thanks, can we still find armor and weapons in loot or are these new armors only craftable? Cause I didn't pick that side of the smithing tree

Awesome! I have a favorite character who is an archer and I saw a bow in pics and I would love him to wield it.

Fortunately, you can find the Nordic stuff on NPCs. It seems to be the Solstheim equivalent of Bandit Chief armor (you know how Bandit Chiefs always have Steel Plate?) I would not want to have to craft the stuff. Bloody expensive materials: ebony, quicksilver, steel, iron.

That's good to know! That is a lot of material for one set.

Considering DR caps at 80% which is 567 armor rating that 1308 seems excessive lol. You need advanced armor smithing to make Carved Nordic and you have to complete the Companions to carve Ancient Nord Armor so perhaps your friend confused the two.
