Not a Happy Camper Where’s My Disk ?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 6:23 pm

This is a joke im in a wheel chair so getting to shops to buy games is a pain so I send a mate to get me a Disk copy of DawnGuard from my local Game Shop !!!

So My mate returns with the What looks & Smells Like a Disk Copy of Dawnguard NO Its a CD-Case with a bit of cardboard in it (Open Case be for finding this out now stuck with it)

Here's why im really Miffed
  • I Have Really Limited Internet Access
  • There are truck loads of these things been delivered to shops all over the world Why when all you need is the bit of cardboard this is a complete waste of the Planets Limited resources
  • There is no info on the CD-Case about how big the Initial Download is. So im stuck not knowing if im going to be-able to Download the entire add-on or im going to be stuck with a Broken Game for a Month Or More (LOL Broken game there never going to fix the bugs are they Really)
  • I Still Have to Have Steam to play! I really HATE Steam
  • Reason I Hate Steam Forces Updates This process is not a problem for most games but TES is not most games a forced update can completely corrupt the save game if MOD Content is no longer compatible with the Forced Update im sick of starting over due to this Problem
Rant Over Now im going to Sulk in a corner!!!

I hear you, but alas life isn't fair sometimes. With any luck a patched form of the game and all the DLC will come out on disk eventually in a GOTY edition. Fingers crossed.

You can turn off automatic steam updates in the properties menu, cant help you with the download, unless you got a friend who wants to download it for you.

Turning Steam Updates off is useless it keeps re-setting to auto update (This is a knows Steam Bug & why i Hate Steam so much)

Yes i have 1 Local Friend that plays Skyrim but hes on holiday For two weeks & he was expecting to return to pickup his gaming computer with Dawnguard installed & ready to go not have to take his comp home & install it himself (He's not Computer literate installing anything has him on the phone asking questions) Then he will have to bring his computer back to me to get MODS installed mainly (Graphic & the most important ONE the Unofficial Skyrim Patch) funny how the community can fix this game better then gamesas !!

So im still stuck Sulking in the Corner till he returns
