Will I be able to play without the patch, as I don't have XBL to patch it?

You can still play it, but you'll have to put up with any issues that remain unpatched.

You do not, I repeat you do NOT need Xbox Live Gold to obtain the patch. If you have a connection to the internet, you can sign up for a FREE Silver account and still get the patch.

You can play it but some issues may not be fixed. I assume that it will be nothing gamebreaking because theyve tested a lot anyways. Cant you take the xbox somewhere like a friends house or a wifi somewhere and connect to live for just 10 minutes though? XBL silver is free (for marketplace content and patches, etc...)

If you can't get on XBL then no patches unfortunately.

I do not have the capabilities to connect to XBL via the internet.
However, the issue seems cleared up now, I'll just patch it when I can get home.

Bring your xbox somewhere were you can connect, a while agao when i had no internet i went to a video game cafe and got a game patch installed.

If I remember correctly there used to be a way that you could download files for the xbox 360 from xbox.com onto a blank DVD that when put into your xbox would install the update. I used to use this to download the files nessesary to play original xbox games (mostly for morrowind) on my 360 without having an internet connection. I don't know for sure if it works for games and full system updates but its always worth taking a look if you have acess to a blank DVD and a computer with internet acess and a DVD burner.
