not as open world as i hoped

When Bethesda announced all the mountain passes in Skyrim,I was wondering how this would affect the ability to explore. And the answer is A LOT!
Once I`ve reached most sites,I only get there again by fast traveling because they were so damnably difficult to get there in the 1st place I don`t want to have to work around inaccessible mountains again.Having to repeatedly go into the menus to travel anywhere certainly spoils the immersive element of the game to a large degree-The mountains in Oblivion are a helluva lot flatter so why,oh WHY did they do it?
Does anybody else agree with me?
