NotePad++ Darker Color Scheme

Below is a XML File which you import
Then what you do is change the background color by going into Settings -> Style Configurations -> Global Styles -> Enable Global background color
Then enter the background color you want, i used RGB(20, 20, 20)

Im not sure how to actually add it, ill look on how to do that, new to all the wiki thing (Sad i know). Other wise i would of submited some tutorials on the Papyrus Scripting tricks ive learned with mods of mine Cupid - Arrow Be Gone & Arcane Assassin

Uploading XML files currently isn't allowed, so what I did with the current version is just embed it into the page. If we end up with any more, I'll probably move them to a separate page and just link to them, but for now that works. Just take a look at the source of the one that I embedded - I think I just wrapped it in some tags.

Also, just to make sure, is it all up to date with the latest version of the one currently on the wiki (excluding styles, of course)?

How do I import this into notepad++? I saved it as a .xml, placed it in the .../plugins/API/ directory, and tried to import it as a style theme through Settings > Import > Import Style Theme(s). Neither seemed to have any effect. The background color change worked, but I can't read half of my code. What am I doing wrong?

That's the method you need to use for installing autocomplete files.

As Tryas said, you need to import this via the "User-Defined Dialogue..." window, which you can find under "View".

Just did that to no effect. I should note that before finding this thread I imported the syntax highlighting .xml off the ck wiki. Could that one be conflicting?

Change the name of one of them from within the user defined languages window, then reload N++ see if that helps

Renaming did not help, so I went through and deleted all of the imports. Now It's black text on a white background with no user defined languages. I imported the .xml and nothing changed even after restarting notepad++. On top of that, importing the .xml from the ckwiki doesn't work anymore either! I accidentally the whole notepad++...

I reinstalled notepad++. It still had the papyrus user defined language saved and now it's working just fine. Thanks for the help! I have no idea what was going wrong.

I had the same issue when I added the other syntax highlighting file, although I haven't tried since being made a "Sheriff".

When I tried the theme, it looks like I must have missed a step. I changed my background colour, according to your instructions, but the line that I'm currently writing on still has a bright background, such that I can't see what I'm writing. Do you know what other setting might need to be changed in order to fix this?

In case you didn't know, you can make pages within your userspace that might be more appropriate than your talk page, until this gets put on the Notepad++ Setup page or if you have something else like personal tests that you want to document on the wiki. For example, you could create a page at http://www.creationkit.com/User:PROXiCiDE/Notepad++_Dark.xml (the .xml is just in the page name - it's not actually an XML file)

ALSO, this supports folder manipulation updates to include endwhile endif endevent etc
