Nothing Happens after Start Up

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 10:32 am

So it's activated on Steam and all that, installed and with the patch. The problem occurs after I click play. The Bethesda symbol appears then it goes on to the screen with the dragon on the left and the smoke coming from the bottom of the screen. And then that's it. It doesn't freeze or crash here, it just stays like that with the dragon on the left and the smoke moving around the bottom of the screen. I'm assuming that there is more to the game than that so I was hoping if anyone had any ideas as to why my adventure seems to end here?

It's running on a GTX 460, an i5 (3.1Ghz) with 8gb ram, so it's not that my computer can't handle it before anyone suggests it.

So, any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Daerana

Where is this there? I've gone control panel/hardware and sound then I clicked on sound. I've looked all through the settings there and can't see where the option to change that is. Thanks for the quick reply.

The solution on that thread worked. I do not understand why that would have caused it but it did. I did not click on that thread earlier as it does not actually crash for me. ANyway, it's fixed now. Thanks for that. I hope yours is now working too.

AT least you get that I get stuck with a plain black screen right after it boots up, I have had to do 3 yes thats right 3 hard restarts to my comp, and as you all know that is not good for the computer!

This really ticks me off I expected some bugs but this is unacceptable...

Tried this. Didn't work for me. I get the same thing. Click new game, say yes, dragon appears and then I hear weird noises like horses and it just sits there.
