Nothing happens during execution scene

Well, the title pretty much sums it all. I just bought Skyrim through Steam, installed it, then a couple more updates were downloaded and installed. 7 hours after I bought the game I finally got the chance to play it. I arrived to the town, got pulled out from the cart, customized my character, then a guy was about to be executed, the priest started saying a few words then suddenly stopped and everyone stood there silent.

The game is not frozen, just nothing else happens. I saved and reloaded the game and I was able to continue a bit, only for getting to the scene where you see the executioner and the dragon flying around in the background. Once again, the game's action stops and I get to see that dragon flying around for hours. Saving and reloading the game does not solve it.

To say I'm dissapointed is an understatement. I awaited eagerly to play this game. I just can't understand how it's possible for a game with a multimillion dollar budget to have such a gross bug that impedes you from going further than the game introduction sequence!

If someone can help me I'll appreciate it very much. Just please don't tell me to reinstall the game, that's kind of a lazy response (and by the way, my copy couldn't be cleaner, I just downloaded and installed it!)

I had the same thing happen to me on the Xbox. I went back to the main menu and selected new game. You'll go through the little opening scene up to character creation, and after that it should run as it's supposed to. At least it did for me, anyway.
