I noticed something missing

or, well I guess i didnt notice it was missing because its not there... Anyway. Theres no evidence or remnants of any Oblivion gates. I know they opened all over tamriel, and probably other continents too. We know that there was a huge change in Vvardenfel as they fought back against the daedra, and the scars dotted cyrodiil.

But not once have I seen any evidence of an Oblivion gate in Skyrim. Not one story of Daedra sacking a town, nor evidence of defense against such an attack. I know after 200 years a whole lot of this stuff would've been lost. But all of it? That just seems so unlikely to me. Especially considering Dagon's attempts to take Cloud Ruler Temple, on Skyrim's border.

Did I miss anything? I mean, the Cyrodiil gates blighted the land around them and left huge scars, and even black spikes jutting about. it seems like there would have to be something, some tangible evidence of it, somewhere... But try asi I might, i cant find any! So yeah, did I just miss something and that stuff is somewhere in the game... or is there really nothing?

I think of it as, the Nords don't like intrustions or outsiders. "Skyrim is for the Nords" and all that. So after the crisis they got together and cleared out the gates. Or who knows they were "magical" gates so maybe they just disappeared after a while. I mean it was 200 years.

There is also the philosphy of what happened in the last game doesn't matter anymore, atleast that is how I see it. The games are fun things you play around in and then the next one comes out and the last ones don't matter anymore. That's just me though.
