I now love the town guards

Recently I started dropping off all my gear at my home in Solitude if I plan to be in town for awhile. From a roleplay stand point I think it makes sense that after traveling the land doing what ever I was doing when I come home to my Family and have no intention leave right away I would put everything away. I leave my home wearing my Fine boots, Fine Clothes, wedding ring, necklace of bartering, and Volsung's Mask. After a couple of steps the red dots pop up, I go to grab my sword..... I put it on the weapon rack. So now I have a Vampire and his thralls wanting my blood. My pride wont let me run but I know this will not be easy. As I ready the little magic I know to summon some Deadra (mod that lets me summon one more for every mastery level so at best I can have four right now) the town guard come rushing in to help their Thane. My Frost Atronachs are not all that powerful and I can only shout so much and I don't want to kill everyone with Storm Call so this would have be a tough fight. The town guard have now proven me correct in my choice to move my family thinking they would be safe, at least safer.

So anyone else have one of those, "Hey, that (NPC) was actually some help) moments?
