Yeah and? What's your point? Everybody knows that it won't be unlocked on Steam until the 11th.

So many people have the game already so its not big news and you cant play it before 11.11.11 at 01:00 AM in Belgium if you have it for PC.

Pics were only worthwhile for the first person that claimed they had the game before anybody else, now... well... it's just old hat.

Just thinking, with all of these idiotic stores selling the game, whats the point of a midnight release at all?

If by "it has nothing to do with" you mean "it has everything to do with" then you're absolutely right.

Well, having to download a game when you could be playing it is potentially WAY more annoying. Just sayin

Encryption of the files has nothing to do with DRM.

well there wasnt going to be any mid night release where i live because you know, everyone is playing CoD 4 that released few days ago.
also that every store is closed on 11-11-11 and we had to wait till monday so we can buy the game. thats why they are selling it earlier.

It has EVERYTHING to do with DRM, as it's Steam's DRM (i.e. the activation scheme) that's preventing him from installing and playing the game.

Edit: Yes, authentication by content provider or publisher = DRM.

Shut up who cares, Steam = GOOD. It gets people to buy the game out of anticipation than download it. Those that download games would most likely not buy the game in the first place.

Steam itself is the DRM. Encryption of the files is to prevent users to be able to use the product before launch. It also prevents it from being hacked before release.

I didn't say it was bad, I said it was DRM. It's what it is.

You realize every movie and game with a midnight release that's spread over thousands of stores across the world has exceptions? Why do you care?

umad?

Also it seems that stores holding back the game until 11.11.11 are the exceptions now, rather than the norm.

Why does everyone feel the need to create a thread as soon as they receive the game?

You can't install it, you can't play it and there is nothing to discuss.
