My char is currently level 25, I use a mod that requires 15 skill points before leveling so it fits my pace just fine; I almost never geek out my skills and only train in case I need a point or two for that perk I have my eye on. Sometimes I would take a sidequest but never get to it, or I might find a quest item (without getting the quest first) and just figured I would drop it off later....my char is not rich but a 1000 reward is no that big a deal
I got a Drum (clearly a quest item) and after a visit to Solitude I decided to drop it off at the Bard′s College expecting the usual lame magic item and a handful of pennies....but lo an behold, the Bard I gave it to decided to give me some of "his knowledge" by giving me free +1 skill points in various skills!
My current char does not fit the whole Bard concept, so I guess I wont be questing for them much (definetly will be doing it with a thief char thou) but it makes me wish more Skyrim quests had those kinds of rewards where the reward fits th quest giver, I remember the aged alchemist who gives the White Phial; instead of a handful of pennies and some bad attitude I wish he justhad given me some free alchemy you know? The money becomes moot after awhile but the skill increase are always welcome in my book!

I agree. Money can be gained easily in Skyrim

the lady you get the tusk for gives you some bartering skills, the guy who lost his father's sword teaches you some one-handed or blocking or something, iirc.

I like those kind of rewards too.

There are more quests with nice rewards, if you can find them.


There are also several small quests that give a skill point as a reward.
