How in the world did I manage to become a vampire? I now have the option to drink someone's blood instead of talking to them! WTF?

Did you fight vampires, get infected and not notice? I think it takes three days for you to become a vampire proper after contracting the disease.

ruh-roh. I guess if you're getting that option, you're beyond the help of Cure Disease potions or activating a shrine. I'm not sure, though. I had this happen on my first play-through and had no idea until I hit stage 4. By then, it was too late. I ended up taking that character back about 10 levels and I have been very, very serious about checking my Active Effects or whatever that is called. When I see something in red, I drink a potion.
