NPC AIpathing glitch? (Lakewood Manor)

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:03 am

I've noticed at this house that whenever my spouse goes outside, they'll always walk to the side of the house and just stand there, staring off into space. Occasionally, they'll take a few steps in place and then stop. I've read that spouses are apparently supposed to be able to do things outside like mine at the deposits etc, but I've never seen them do it. Since they're a follower, I can ask them to join me, and I've noticed that they'll never walk past that spot and prefer to turn around and take the long way around the side of the house. I have the kitchen wing on that side, if that makes any difference. Anybody else experiencing this?

Edit: Yep, looks like it's the cliffside that's causing it. Loaded a save from before I built any additions and NPCs will walk a wide path around that cliffside, right into where the wing of the house gets built.

I believe you're correct. One of my housecarls wouldn't follow me through there to the Bee hive. Odd, its not that narrow.

I looked into this a bit more and building an armory wing at that house sorta fixes this. Spouses will then walk up the stairs and interact with the porch, and I believe followers can follow you up there and down the back. Seems like whoever did the testing of Lakeview Manor forgot to try the other east wing options. Would be nice if this could be fixed for those of us who prefer the kitchen or library there.

Same thing here, my wife looks so dumb starring into space all day

Yeah I get this problem with Ysolda. She walks down the east side of Lakeview Manor during the day and stops near where the east wing kitchen is, then goes back inside at night.
