NPC's giving up and begging for their lifes

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 1:24 pm

Right, from a friend in eurogamer and a few other sources that if NPC's get too overwhelmed in an attack they may drop to their knees and beg for their lifes. I have not heard any kind of confirmation since, so i'm wondering if it is still in the game. Hopefully it is! seems abit silly for them to take out

Quote from my friend '' Yeah, i was fighting some guy with arrows near a stream. I sent a few arrows into him and then he dropped to the ground begging for his life so i killed him and looted him ''

Yeah, it's in, but I doubt I'll be killing anyone that cowers, seems like a wasted effort to me.

If such is real its awesome this has been a missing feature for eons.

Now we just have to know if we can loot them alive, choose what we want.

If we cant its a waste cause people will be killing them for even tiny loot anyway...

Would be interesting if we could drag them to jail and maybe receive some bounty... new possible play set: Bountyhunter.

That is not possible. This sometimes happens to people too who you cant kill like there was unconscious in Oblivion. But that now happens to traders and shopkeepers too, to bad you can't do EVERYTHING you want

I have encountered this multiple times but never gave it a second thought. Always killed the NPC's as they begged. So just so you know, it's been left in the game itself ;)
also there is already an option for bountyhunting :D

No, i saw a nice helmet in a shop in Riverwood so saved and tried killing the shop keeper, to check out if it was worth buying. It wasn't possible to kill him. The shopkeeper fell to his knees when he had low health, when he got up he had full health again. Hits didn't have effect on him when he was down.

If the guy had been a thorn in my side for quite awhile, I would kill him, but if it was a women, I would let her live, and make her my companion as punishment :celebration:

I'm reminded of a line from the intro of an old game: "Defending myself from people like you gets expensive. And I'm on a budget."

I may be inclined to kill Bandits, etc. who attack me, and then take their stuff, even if I'm a "good" guy. Esp. if they made me expend resources.

Shopkeepers stored item in a shopkeeper chest in Oblivion /Fallout 3 so killing them would not give access to everything.
However if someone begged for their life you should be able to rob them, this is that robbers do in real world.
Yes if you don't kill them you leave a witness who might report you.

Awesome!

With my good aligned characters I hate that if you wanted to AVOID killing needlessly you'd have to go to extreme lengths to achieve it. Enemies never seemed to know to avoid a fight or to stop one when clearly defeatted
