Not sure if this belongs here, (brand new member) but,

In Oblivion PS3, the Imperial Battle Mages keep slaughtering the Arcane University!! Every time the Apprentices and Scholars respawn!! I'm the Arch Mage, so this is really not saying good things about my leadership and the guild! lol. Any way to fix this?

The Guards completely ignore me while the massacre happens, and sometimes the Mages win, sometimes the Guards win, but not without casualties on the winning side.

This has also caused Romminus Polus to disappear.

I have the PC Oblivion too, and I'm not TOO bothered by the massacre every time I walk out of the Arch Mages Quarters on the PS3, but, a fix would be nice.

I've heard of this. I suspect there are multiple reasons why it might happen. I've heard that this can happen sometimes if you are both Arch-Mage and Dark Brotherhood Listener. I've never been both with the same character so I can't verify this. I have also heard of this happening if you resist arrest and an NPC in the Mages Guild faction comes to your defense. This can sometimes lead to a continual free-for-all between Apprentices and Battlemeages whenever you enter the University. And, of course, there are also Frenzy spells. I going to assume you haven't been playing with those inside the university...?

Those are just three I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure Turija or glargg or someone else will have more ideas.

Ah, well, I'm not in the Brotherhood, and I don't use Frenzy spells on-campus, as they are known to cause massacres. (I save it for Essential NPCs I can get practice on e.g, The Prophet ) I'm glad I actually got a response though. Wasn't expecting one, especially so soon. I hope there is an answer, as I'm a real role-player, and my character is getting pretty annoyed. If I try to quell the chaos, (Which I can easily do) I end up with a bounty that causes me to lose cash, and causes more chaos. lol.
