Oblivion - Will you ever start playing it again?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 4:07 pm

I got the feeling that I wont play it again. With Morrwind, I went back to play it 3 times after I finished Oblivion, ut since all the amazing mods came out for Oblivion, I almost forgot about Morrowind. As for Obivion I dont think I can go back to it again. Skyrim has many (not all) the things that I wanted Oblivion to have.

Sooo do you think you will abandon Oblivion (or earlier TES games) for ever?

I haven't played Morrowind in a while but I thought about reinstalling it once or twice. Might play it again after a Skyrim playthrough.

But I doubt I'll ever touch Oblivion again. It's just so damn bland. Shivering Isles is cool and all but Skyrim already looks like it's taking the best parts of Oblivion (few though they were) and recapturing that spirit that made Morrowind feel alive, so there's nothing waiting for me in Cyrodiil anymore.

Played Oblivion a lot over the years mostly because of mods but I guess if Skyrim has great mods I wont be playing Oblivion much.

Probably not for a while at least. But it can go another way if the Skyrim is not running well on my laptop. CanYouRunIt puts me almost in the middle between minimum and recommended but several people have said radeon mobility hd 4200 series is not good enough to run Skyrim well.

I still have plenty of Morrowind to go back to. I've never managed to finish the main quest, I always lose interest at the point where you supposed to traipse around the island talking to every leader. I've also never got round to the expansions.

I probably won't be going back to Oblivion any time soon. I've done every quest I can find, including Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. The only thing I'd like to try is the Mehrunes' Razor DLC, but there doesn't appear to be any way to buy it for PC anymore.

lol. No I'll probably play Morrowind from time to time (like 500 years after I'm done with Skyrim). But that's only because I can mod my Morrowind since it's on the PC. And my Skyrim is on PS3.

Even if I do, I'd be on it like... 1-2 times a month. Rest of the time I'll be on Skyrim.

Oblivion was an awful game disguised as a great game.

I definitely won't be missing that pile of level-scaling tripe

This, exactly.

I don't understand the attitude of some gamers who put aside one game when a new game in a series comes out. To me, if a game was worth playing last year it is worth playing today and if it's worth playing today it will be worth playing next year.

When a new book is published I don't stop reading the author's older works. When a director releases a new film I don't stop watching his or her old films. Why would I stop playing a game permanently merely because a new game in a series has been released?

Thank you for saying what I was thinking, and I still think you liked the game more then I did.

Yes, because I still need to finish the main quest, some Shivering Isles quest, and couple more of the DLC stuff. I was trying to get it all finished up before Skyrim came out, but I didn't end finishing everything.
