Obsessive reloading.

Most people reload the game when they die, obviously, but I've got a weird habit I was curious if anyone else shares.

I tend to reload until the fight goes exactly how I want it to. If I make stupid mistakes or am forced to fight in a way that doesn't feel heroic enough I tend to reload until I can figure out a way to carry out the fight that feels more badass. If I feel like summons or companions did a disproportionate amount of the work and carried me I'll reload until I perform better, or just take the summons or companion out of the fight.

It definitely makes the game take a lot longer but I think doing this on master difficulty is getting me better at combat in the game. Anyone else do stuff like this?

I used to do that all the time in Fallout. Not in skyrim though, but I think that is just because there is no epic way of shooting fireballs at enemies.

Huh, I was really glad to beat this badass Dragon Priest at the world wall near Whiterun, no way I could have killed him in a heroic way. I had to hide behind a stone, healing myself all the time, and I got killed more than 5 times at least, I'd say.

I reload the instant my poor dog Meeko goes limp. Even in the middle of a fight that I'm winning...

Save compulsively? Yes. But that's because I play on the PC, and you learn very quickly with Bethesda games to save compulsively or to be a sad panda when you lose effort and work.

Reload compulsively...? Nah, not so much. Then again, I'm playing as a guy who just gets the job done. If an arrow through your throat gets it done, that's what I'll do. If I have to break out the sword and shield, that's what I'll do. Hell, I'm about to start dual-wielding in a minute. It looks so exciting!

I play as as a dagger-wielding assassin, and I tend to do this when I get spotted during an attempted stealth kill.

I beat the first Blood Dragon I ever faced, but my companion bit the dust, so I reloaded. Then I was fighting the dragon again while he went after some giants. I found myself in the middle of all 3 and got the cinematic kill where the dragon picks you up and shakes you to death. 3rd time was a charm.

And here I thought I was the only one. Of course, I don't do it all the time but sometimes I do like to replay battles that didn't go exactly the way I planned.

Oh god, I remember doing this constantly in Mass Effect 2  And I mean frickin' constantly. In every single dialogue.

Of course I had to check out all the dialogue options first and then reload before it, so that I knew I would say something that fitted in with my character.
Then I had to hurry fast as hell and choose it on the exact right moment so that Shepard didn't stand there all awkwardly silent while I was making a choice. If something didn't go EXACTLY as I had planned, I had to reload everything and try it again.
Playing through the game took me about 25 in-game hours and 60 real-life hours

Did I enjoy the game? [censored] no.
