Obsidian announces 'Project Eternity' Kickstarter

Between Project Eternity, Dead State, Wasteland 2, and Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, I hope we are seeing resurgence of isometric RPGs. It's beautiful, because fans of this genre have been told for years that these games were no longer marketable.

Not everything needs multiplayer.

Between this and Wasteland 2 I hope more companies will see that people still like CRPGs.

It's a "Party-Based RPG" I hope it's a priority..
Planescape Torment didn't have multiplayer, neither did Dragon age. I don't see why 'party-based' means it has to be multiplayer. You're controlling the whole party from a top down perspective, not just one guy.

Yes, it looks like quite a good upcoming year for RPG's. On another note 2.2 million raised for planetary annihilation.

Money pledged. More than a little, but less than extreme. Wish I could do more. And oh how I wish I could game-party with the dev's. I don't live too far away, maybe I can crash the party! ;)
...altho, tabletop gaming is not something I'm expert at. They would wipe the floor with me while cackling evil laughter. But it would be worth it. Oh yes it would.

And it's not like there's much of a shortage of multiplayer "party-based" RPGs these days. It's called the MMORPG.

Ahhhh! I should have thought about that. Duh. I was associating Party Based with a game like Gauntlet

So is this the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate that Dragon Age was supposed to be until it turned into an action game? Sounds good to me.

Making multiplayer for this game would be a waste of money...

TT gaming is more or less just story telling with dice. We use a system to role play. That's it. Slow, but way more dynamic than any video game. I would imagine whoever the GM is, is astounding at getting the player engaged. Could probably pick up a lot of tips from them myself. Unless they do a war gaming night and it is pvp.
