Obvious: Why most reviewers don't have frame rate issues

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 8:22 pm

It's tempting to believe the following statements and conclude that things aren't as bad is this forum indicates:

1) "most players aren't experiencing frame rate issues" - bethesda in an IGN interview

2) "none of the perfect reviews described frame rate issues on PS3"

But, duhhhh, the vast majority of players -- including reviewers -- haven't played sufficiently long to encounter frame rate issues. As most of us know, this issue typically doesn't develop until a save file reaches 6-8 mb, which usually doesn't happen until level 12-20.

No, most reviewers just copy and pasted their Xbox 360 review, changed some wording, and posted it as a PS3 review. As far as I'm concerned those PS3 reviews, whether they are copy and pasted or 100% original and based on PS3 are 100% invalidated by this frame rate issue. The reviews should all be pulled pending a fix.

You also gotta think that the reviewers didnt get the game early to review on the PS3. This probably could have made them rush the review when they finally got the game

Indeed, the media got the ps3 versions closer to 11/11/11 from what I understand. And the HUGE performance problems don't start hapening until 30 hours give or take. There wasn't enough time to get to the point where the issues start coming up before their reviews were posted.

Did bethesda know that the ps3 reviewers wouldn't get the chance to experience the issues beforehand? I truly am starting to think so...
