occasional freezes during gameplay

I am running a really good set up, so I am not sure what the cause can be. However, I am getting screen freezes and/or lag during single player games. It will be running really smooth, only to freeze for a second or so then when it catches back up, it either has me moved far from my starting point, or it unfreezes but remains lagging for a bit after. Anyone else having this issue? I have all my drivers updated. So I don't really know what could be causing it. I am running TWO Nvidia GTX 280s through SLI Crossfire. Anyway, anyone know a easy fix? Or anyone else having this issue?

I have a 280 GTX also.

My FPS never drops below 60 but the in-game physics and movement freezes like above.

This is making the game unplayable.

If I change the graphics options and apply (For example change from High to Very High) it goes away for about 60 seconds but then comes back.

I am running an I5 750 clocked at 4ghz.

My machine runs everything else I throw at it, going to try different drivers and see if I have any luck :(

Mizaun, it sounds like your issue is related to low memory, slow hard drive access or lots of background processes running.

Well when I do play, I can run it at the highest settings. But when I lower thinking it will fix it, it does nothing really. I also seem to have this issue with another EA game. Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Yet I have Just Cause 2 running through Steam, and I have all its settings maxed, and I never have any issues, plus it looks amazing and moves at 60fps. I am also able to run Crysis & Crysis Warhead both at max settings, again with no issues. Same with Amnesia, it too runs great. It just seems when I run games through EA Download server that I seem to have issues. Is it possible to run the game with out having to run EADM? Also, I am pretty sure the other issues you spoke of should not be an issue. I have a full list of what I'm running in my profile. So check it out and let me know if there is something I am not sure about that can be causing the issue. Anyway, is there a possible patch that fixes said issue?
