OFFICIAL VENT THREAD: Let it all out here.

Post » Mon Sep 20, 2010 3:17 pm

Well it's quite obvious these forums are nothing but a whine and bich fest about this and that, I figure it's probably good to just have one long thread with all the complaining and venting within. Got a problem with the game, want to vent a little (or maybe a lot)? Let it out here, get it off your chest, who cares if trolls or the holy judges come, speak your mind. I know it damn well makes me feel better.

I kinda regret buying this game for $60. If I had it to do over, I think I would not buy it, and instead wait for the price to drop. I even bought a new graphics card just for Crysis 2, but I might as well have just bought an Xbox360 along with the game instead.

StarCraft II was $60 (and PC only), but after seeing what it offered, I suddenly felt okay paying that much for it... For example, if you register the game, you can download the entire client from battle.net, forever... So if you ever lose your game disc, you can just download the game. :)

If Crysis 2 had offered some extra stuff like that for how much it cost on PC, I wouldn't be second-guessing.

It's frustrating that despite paying an additional fee associated with getting a license for this game, I am still unable to use it fully. I know Crytek is working on it, and after being able to assist them (or at least I hoped I was of assistance to some small degree), I'm feeling less frustrated about it. It makes no sense to use three different login systems when EA already had the details (though they'd likely shut down Crysis 2's multiplayer as soon as Crysis 3 is announced) needed to be able to manage it. I have no idea why IGN/Gamespy/gamesas are having as much of a problem as they are.

It feels like the development for the PC stuff "under the hood" ran out of the budget and just couldn't get finished. Combine this with the inability to play before the game got a massive wave of people cheating and pirating and I'm feeling myself less enthusiastic. I did enjoy the demo, and I did want to get in to the multiplayer on day zero. I've followed the directions to the letter myself, yet people continually tell me and others that "you did it wrong" when systems like these are supposed to be designed in such a way that they aren't a [female dog] to use.

I barely saw the issue here :p

Try playing it at 10 FPS, in 640x480 resolution, with motion blur enabled, then you'll know true pain...

I must agree that the database errors are a real pain. The way the data is managed client sided (resulting in the large number of cheaters..) doesn't help either. It does make me wonder how they're going to fix the issue given the state of things since people who *can* play don't appear to be willing to give up their precious play time and records despite all the nonsense that's going on either (there was even a report of someone playing legitimately but still ending up at level 50 after one match because another player was cheating).

Gotta love how people can be.

I have nothing to vent except cheaters. Ok i admit it.. we got anger issues. I still enjoy it but i really do have high expections for crytek. They need to be reminded that Crysis 1 started with PC and we helped the rest down the road and this is a favor we get. I personally blame EA. Not Crytek. Crytek is fine imo.
