offline co-op?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:32 pm

So, last night i was feeling social, and got a 360 controller to try to play the Wasteland Legends mode split screen with my room-mate. i thought i would use the mouse and keyboard like normal, and he could use the 360 controller. So i clicked on multiplayer and tried all of the options, but all that happened was that steam could not connect. Connect? i'm offline and wanted to play split screen offline, why should steam have to connect? Bogus. Or did i miss something really simple? i enabled the controller, and all of the menus got little colored button icons... Do i need 2 controllers? i can't stand the slow aiming with dual anologs, and i never really tried to use one... That would be a deal breaker. And i don't have the internet at home, could it really be required to play split screen locally? Maybe i totally misunderstood the co-op option... Or the whole split-screen thing was some dream i had... Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Peace and Love!

Split screen co-op isn't available on the PC version unfortunately.

You never know though, maybe it'll come later (doubtful) or someone will find it 'left in the code' like with what happened with Portal 2 (still doubtful but cross your fingers!!).

Ya to bad it doesn't, plus doesn't allow more than 2 to play co-op at once.
I have like 8 computer on the same network.. I could have a lanparty. :)

Thanks for the quick responses! i swore i read about it in the manual, that's too bad. And no LAN either? Is that a steam thing or an id decision? Oh well, it's always single player for me anyway.

Not sure who's idea it was to NOT incorporate LAN into the game, but whoever it was really dropped the ball.

Yep, since there's no LAN support in the game for the PC version (not sure about consoles) you could have multiple computers networked together over a LAN and would STILL have to log into Steam and play via the internet with someone that's sitting right next to you. Let's hope iD add LAN support later on!!
