Okey, this is too much.

I dont mind the random attacks on your home in hearthfire, infact i like them. They dont happen that often, and a giant once in a while is nice for my alchemy.

But today i exited my home and ran into the following. One dragon, one giant and 3 dawnguards...

If it was either of these it wouldent be a problem, but all three of them? I somehow managed to win anyway, but it took a couple of reloads and it wasent fun at all. My warrior charather wouldn't break a sweat but this was on my theif/assasin

Have anyone else hade a difficult moment like this? Is there any plans for beth to limit the random spawns so that all of them cant happen all at once? Etc?

Where are you living? I found I got more random attacks in Falkreath than Hjaalmarch. Also, it's probably the random attacks from the MQ, Dawnguard and Hearthfire converging at an unfortunate moment... Once I fast travelled to Karthwasten and got a random attack there with 2 ancient dragons and a Volkihar vampire with her troop. It was pretty epic.

Braggen got lots of those moments at Lakeview Manor in his first two goes at Hearthfire, the first he got a dragon nearly every time as well as just about everything else. The second time he got a legendary dragon nearly every time and everything else all at the same time, usually from three or four different directions. The first time it was annoying, but I played through most of Skyrim with him having dragon problems, so although the revered dragons were an added annoyance he could deal with it. The second time around I almost ended up a nervous wreck, failed to keep all the livestock alive and in the end, when a few strange bugs reared their ugly heads, I wasted no time calling it quits and giving up on that attempt at living out in the wilds. On the third attempt I am being more cautious, Lakeview Manor has no livestock at the moment, it might be permanently staying that way if I think the game is out to wipe them out as soon as Braggen gets them. He has had a few dragons, lots of Dawnguard and some bandits, vampires and wolves so far, one group at a time, not all together like a mass invasion. The family has moved in and the house is furnished (and glitch free) and I am currently moving a ton of stuff in for future home decorating projects.

Braggen has a high rate of random events, I am more than happy enough with that level of attacks, he has actually managed to leave a few times with nothing attacking. if I can have a horse, cow and a few chickens there without half the enemies in Skyrim invading the place, I will continue to be happy. If not I will simply never get the livestock and avoid the problem. My second character has no problems like that, which is just fine for me, I am not playing Skyrim for unrealistic challenges or for the fighting. I put up with the fighting to enjoy other aspects of the games.

I ran into an Ancient Dragon 3 Danguard, and a band of bandits just the other day on my Warrior. Was very thrilling. :D

I think they should at least allow you to build some kind of defense system against random attacks rather than letting it kill all your animals.

Maybe they could give you the ability to hire a few guards, if you're with their factions. A legate could request a detachment of Imperial soldiers, for instance. If you're friendly with the Blades, you could recruit a few more followers as guardsmen. And if you free Madenach, he could give you a few Forsworn.

That sounds like a good idea, but i was also thinking maybe a wall/fence kind of thing. And maybe if they do the wall they could add houses for the service providers (the bard etc)

Actually, a wall's not a bad thought. It would keep out giants, anyway. Maybe bandits too. Dragons and skeevers would still be an issue.

Yeah, I find it horrible for RP'ing. I live in Falkreath, and on my once-adventurer character, who is now rich and retired, I've had two Death Hounds and and Ancient Vampire attack me at the same time. There is also a dragon circling around my home but never attacks, and it is getting kinda annoying.

Don't want dragons? Don't initiate the Main Quest. Problem solved.

Well after all this time it is a bit late, my first character did the main quest last year, the second character learned from that and avoided the dragons, the first just has to put up with them if he is going to keep adventuring. At least lately I have been getting a chance to have a very close look at the new dragons. Third time around they do their best to land right on top of Braggen as he is busy fighting other groups of enemies, he has to get out of the way real fast. But I think he has had enough eye to eye encounters with legendary and revered dragons, some dragon repellent for the house would be nice.

Maybe the next patch for Hearthfire would be a damage to your house, especially with many players reporting the high frequencies of attacks. IMO, there seems to be "unlimited" supplies one could gather for building a house. Why not implement these supplies, rather than to just have for rebuilding from attacks?

I do love this. In my most recent play through I finished the Companions, Civil War, Thieve's Guild, College of Magic, and Dark Brotherhood, all before any dragons ever spawned. It was really nice and relaxing to be able to jaunt around Skyrim without any fear of dragons popping up.

I live at lakeview and have not had any these problems. No attacks as of yet. I have about 30 hours of game play at that location.

I wonder if it's because I joined the Dawnguard. I get a lot of vampire attacks at Lakeview (none so far at Winstad). I think there's a vampire spawn point down the road from Lakeview (somewhere between Pinewatch and Peak's Shade tower) and they just run up the road to the house.

I joined the Dawnguard too and no problem with vampires there. Now Whiterun is a very different story. Half the town is dead now, from blood svckers.

On my three different characters I use different houses and have different families and I have never once had so much as a Skeever attack. Even the necromancer who lives behind my Falkreath house hasn't attacked lol.

Not on my current save. I actually don't mind the random attacks at my house, so I'm fine taking my time through the Dawnguard quest. (The town attacks, though, do require quite a bit of effort to avoid NPC deaths).

Braggen is sick of the Dawnguard idiots following him everywhere, they are just too annoying a distraction. He is about to go back to doing side quests to see if he can get the one to kill the Dawnguard leaders off. Just waiting for a steward to actually finish furnishing an entryway so the family can move to a safer area.

I mentioned that somewhere, so at least it's a popular opinion.

Further expanded : Make the hire-able guards something like "unlockable". I.e. When you become thane in a hold, you can petition the local Jarl for hold guards. Or depending on your status in the Empire/Stormcloaks, you can hire basic troops up through the heavily armored. Even the guilds could offer guards of various levels based on your level/status in the guild. (Leather armor for low levels, iron for mid level, steel for high level)

i like this idea,i have a pole for the option to build a wall around the house in the cheats forum, idk what other dlc's bethesda has planned, but it is going to get out of hand with many more random attacks,i played for maybe 30mins today, and was getting hammered with ancient dragons, giants and bandits currently don't have DG installed,it is fun sometimes, but a bother others
