I was playing Skyrim than I decided to see if I could make a new character with better all around stats not just focused around magic, so I started a new game in hopes of starting a new adventure but still keeping my old adventure intact. I then started to play for a couple hours then I went to make manual save for my new character and noticed that my old character save was deleted and there was no trace. I thought that it was just because I was playing as a new character but that was not the case. When I quit out the game I was in and went to load up my old character it was nowhere to be found.

Has anyone's old character save file been overwritten by starting a new game?

I'm not talking about the auto save this was a manual save that was overwritten not an auto save.
