Old overused magic

When talking about the Druid, make me remember the wind magic of Druid in Diablo 2 Expansion, that is rare magic in any game. We can also see wind magic in Warcraft 2 (Frozen Throne).

Now this topic is about overused and old magic, elemental magic is old and overused in games. we will see fireball, lightning strike, frost bolt...over and over. It is getting dull and nothing special. You see fireball here, you also see fireball in any other games.

Why no explore other kind of magic like wind, water, earth, plant, moon power themed, gravity themed, void themed, nature, metal, rock...ect...

In TES we have telekinetic, why not expand the telekinetic theme? Telekinetic in Skyrim is the same old with Oblivion.

Light for example, expand the Light magic...what Light can bring more other than light itself? Surely it can be made many things from Light...because it is magic...light bridge, light stairs, light wall...something.

Or does creativity ends?

I'd like spells like in (Heroes of) Might and Magic series. You know, Feather Fall (take no fall damage), Water Walking, Haste (attack/move faster) and the like.

It makes sense that Elemental Magic is the core of any magic group. However, it would be nice to have other spells. I like the gravity ones, it could be anything from throwing the enemy up in the air, or sticking them to the ground for a while until I can dispatch their friends. I would love to douse a Flame Atronach with water. It might be cool to be able to use plants to help in a battle, maybe vines could wrap up the enemies.

More magic would be good.

As an avid mage since the days of my table top rpg playing I am always a fan of new magic. I would like to see some earth and plant magic to make a druid class really doable in Skyrim. Also being able to summon beast could be quite fun.

Indeed I miss being able to make a spell that fuses fire frost and lighting for one hell of a surprise for the enemies of my mage.

Good topic, I miss the magic of older TES games like Daggerfall and Morrowind, like being able to levitate and ride on my horse in Daggerfall, mark and recall, slowfall, and not to mention the best part of being a mage in Morrowind, the spellmaking. Dragonborn adds the windcloak which is a step in the right direction, the use of the element of Air, Dawnguard makes proper use of telekinesis IF you opt to become a VL, which I'm not keen on. I want to see more elements added, poison magic made a return with Poison Rune, but that is not enough. Corruption/Unholy magic would be nice for a necro instead of the elemental magic of Skyrim, curses need to make a return as well. Bottom line is that magic is but a shadow compared to older TES games, even if I like it there's a lot of room for improvement.

far as damage go i think fire/ice/lightning/sunlight(holy?) magic are pretty good. I do miss the utility spells like water walking, open, levitate and fortifications (boots of blinding speed or custom speed spells made travel so much quicker)

Telekinesis would be cool if it you could actually throw crap at people, or use it like unrelenting force. Actually all the shouts would make for great spells, slow time without a cooldown would be so epic. Maybe for tes 6 they will add in the unique dragon shouts as spell effects

For those who play DotA will see many magic themed both that applied in the game also that hang out in suggestion forum

There can be expanding, because magic is magic...what magic if it is limited?

Other out of box theme can be expanded, like time and space continuum...quantum mechanic, atomic whatever... particle break up mass reversal whatever...

Transmutation in Skyrim is cool...but i wonder why it can't make iron ore to gold coins? It can only transmute to gold ore...and gold ore cannot smelted into gold coins lol

Why not in Skyrim or next TES we can command the tree? Making it like walking tree warriors or talking tree who can sing a song for us?

Or change a flower into monstrous man eating flower...or flower releasing poisonous gas, or sleeping gas

Make rock wall from the earth...manipulate the earth creating what you call it..? That svcking sands...

creating wormhole that make us travel in time or travel in any places...

manipulate the sound...playing flute and make everybody dancing then die
