Old School Ghoul Quest - Impossible To Complete

The quest Old School Ghoul is Raul's special companion quest and requires you to talk to three old men who still find ways to be useful in society. You have to talk to all of them to trigger all three of Raul's stories, complete the quest, and determine Raul's bonus perk and path for the future. One of these old men is Ranger Andy, an old crippled Ranger living in Novac. You have the option to meet Ranger Andy fairly early in the game and complete his unmarked side quest of checking up on Ranger Station Charlie and reporting back to him where he will then teach you a special unarmed takedown move. However, if you complete this unmarked quest and learn this special move before you gain Raul as a companion or without having him present when you do, Raul's story will NEVER TRIGGER for Ranger Andy, and thus you will never be able to complete his companion quest.

Now this isn't the first topic to mention this problem, I know that. However, in all the hours I've played this game and in all the side quests I've done this is the one quest that I've been unable to complete due to a glitch. And even though I've read about others that people can't complete due to glitches, this is really the only quest I am NOT ok with being impossible, as the results of this quest directly effect the ending of the game and I feel being unable to affect the ending in a game where choice is a huge focal point because of a silly glitch is really not fair and honestly unacceptable. For one thing, it's not like the conditions for this glitch are extremely rare and specific. Raul is located in a prison at the top of an irradiated mountain guarded by Super Mutants, Super Mutant Masters, Centaurs, and Nightkin along the I-15 which is crawling with Deathclaws. Ranger Andy is located in Novac, a quiet town that you WILL end up going through if you take the standard (recommended) path to try and find the men who shot you from Goodsprings through Primm, then Nipton, then Novac, then possibly boulder city, and then finally Freeside/The Strip.

The thing that makes this quest glitch so diabolical is that the average player will almost certainly arrive in Novac before they go anywhere near Raul's location at Black Mountain, and said player will most likely explore Novac and talk to it's inhabitants at their own disgression, completing side quest after side quest for it's inhabitants, gaining reputation in the town, completely unaware that if they complete an unmarked quest that looks both innocent and beneficial for the player at such an early point in the game, they are setting themselves up for failure later on in the game. And the worst part in all of this is that by the time the average player finds this out they will have already been playing for so long that they are far past the point of simply just starting over from a point before they met Ranger Andy with that same character. Unlike PC users, people who are playing Fallout New Vegas on XBox 360 can't simply fix this problem after the fact by entering in a simple console command like the people playing it on PC can.

So all in all, that's my rant. If Bethesda actually reads these forums I'd like to see them patch this major glitch up (along with the many others), but I suppose the point of this rant is really simply to emphasize the importance of fixing this glitch in the next patch for XBox, because like I said before: we XBox users don't have the option of fixing this problem ourselves in the console; we NEED a patch in order to remedy this major quest glitch and others like it.

And the kicker is, if you've managed to work around this bug and complete Raul's quest, his full maintenance companion perk doesn't even work! They seriously need some quality control on this game.
