If you haven't played these or lost your disks, look in your local Gamestop for Dungeons and Dragons Anthology: The Master Collection for $20. It includes:
Original Baldur's Gate Tales of the Sword Coast Baldur's Gate II Throme of Bhaal Icewind Dale Icewind Dale 2 Planescape Torment The Temple of Elemental Evil (not familiar with this one)
A nice touch is they're ready to play on XP, Vista and Win 7.
BTW, the installation takes a looong time. I don't know why 'cause the games aren't all that large. It comes on two DVD's, so start the first, go make a cup of coffee, come back and insert the second, then go drink that coffee.
I think about the cash I put out for some of these, just over the last couple of years.
Eh.
I sort of like that I tracked down and purchased the boxed copies of most of these. Bought Planescape at a corner store before I even knew what it was. Ended up being my one of my favorite games.
I love having original boxes and hard copies of great games, with numerous books and ads for upcoming titles in them. Everything is so damn cheap nowadays.
Very nice deal, although there's nothing there for me as I already own all those games. If anyone does grab this pack be sure to get the http://usoutpost31.com/easytutu/ mod for Baldur's Gate (allows BG1 to be played using the BG2 engine), along with the http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7737 modpack for Temple of Elemental Evil. While there are a fair number of smaller mods (widescreen mods, bugfixes, etc) for all the games those are the two big ones that everyone should be aware of.
If you use the widescreen mod for Torment you'll also want http://www.shsforums.net/files/file/683-ghostdogs-pst-ui-mod-v22/, so that the UI elements properly scale. This isn't a problem for the BG/IWD games.
I own all of them except Planescape Torment and The temple of Elemental evil. I haven't seen them at Gamestop. I think all the games that you mentioned are available at gog.com
Box copies of PS:T, ToEE and ICD are meh. BG series are the real jewels of all box sets there. cloth maps, textbook size manual with detailed descriptions, stylish CD box/sleeve.
I'm thinking of ordering two copies, so I need to know if this set has any online requirements as the person I'm thinking of getting this for (other than me) has no internet at the moment
