one dumb question

Post » Mon Aug 09, 2010 12:07 am

On the new nanosuit on the multiplayer pre alpha gameplay under the energy bar you will see two button icons saying armour and stealth and if your not in any of those modes then what mode are you in?
so the question is do you or what is your base mode becuase in crysis 1 if you were not in any other mode you were in armour mode so do you still get it in crysis 2?

Hiya benchee :)

Here's a great run-down of how the Nanosuit 2 functions in MP: http://www.el33tonline.com/past/2010/8/22/gamescom_2010_crysis_2_multiplayer/
Pressing the jump button once behaves as you would expect – you jump. But if you press and hold the jump button you’ll leap much further into the air than normal, allowing you to clear obstacles with ease and make your way to the top of a structure or building in double-quick time. Also, if you jump towards a ledge and don’t quite make it, you’ll automatically grab onto the ledge and pull yourself up in one motion.

Running at enormous speed is also easily managed by clicking in a stick. Cloaking (going invisible for a time) is achieved with one shoulder button, while armour is activated with the other shoulder button.

Combining all of these powers into a single sequence of actions, and doing it all successfully, is extremely satisfying – perhaps you see a target from the corner of your eye in the near distance, up and over a series of roofs. In no time, you’ll be able to leap up to the same level, cloak out of visibility, sprint over to an advantageous position and unload a barrage of shotgun or machine gun fire into the target’s head, or simply melee the enemy into submission… or even sneak up on your target and snap their neck.

Very fun!

I was wondering how everyone was switching suit modes without pulling up a menu... Sounds awesome!

so the armour mode is not the default mode? then what's the point of it? if u get caught by surprise you will be instantly killed no?

By the looks of it, you're just as hard to kill as you are with the NS1 in armor mode. I'm pretty sure the new armor mode is a separate module that gives you additional protection/strength.

lol you never know were they can come from xD
but it really doesnt sound good, cause if they keep the same amount of energy and weapons damage, a single shot from dsg would be instant kill
i really hope they know what they are doing D:

The Nanosuit 2 completely lacks logic, doesn't it?

Nanosuit > Nanosuit 2

I really don't think that needs to be debated.

Crytek knows what they are doing, that much is clear.

It's not really the kind of thing that can be debated properly without first-hand exposure to it. Why do you think pretty much all of the people who have played it agree that it's a great step forward and many that haven't played it think that it's bad? :)

Seeing as they all have NDAs and get their posts deleted, it's fairly hard to tell what their opinion is.

Armour mode isn't the same now. It isn't a passive, boring, default mode. Now, when you activate it you drain energy slowly, have a tonne more health and move at a slower speed.

the only reason i can see for speed/strength being the default mode is to put the players moving faster, you know that kind of players that dont even know that speed exists or think it too hard to change mode

is it possible to dodge bullets by strafing right and left in speed and shooting at the same time in C2 or not anymore??

Having read this earlier this week, I'm currently slightly sceptical of game reviews :P

I dont trust reviews from websites at all. Just look at all those amazing reviews Black Ops got from reviewerst that didn't test all the versions (PC)....

What I did hear from people I know about the alpha test, was that it was a clear step in the wrong direction for the Crysis franchise, but meh.

In regards to strafing, it seems pretty pointless with the Nanosuit 2 because bullets kill in like 5 shots now. :(

I think that's why they have official sites.
