One feature that Skyrim would have handled beautifully

So the other day I was playing my vampire lord character. After resting and receiving the notification "your thirst for blood grows stronger" along with a fuzzy red type filter for the next few seconds, I had a flashback of vampirism in Oblivion, which had much of the same text but also included a dream/nightmare description that your character had while sleeping.

It was creepy and eerie in all the right ways. Then it occurred to me, that Skyrim not only lacks this feature, but could improve on it in so many ways it bugs the crap outta me. So here's a small list of how vampiric dreams could have been handled in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!

1) With the new update to graphics and more surreal environments (Vaermina's Quest or Azura's anyone?) the dreams could have been actual scenarios that you played out while your character was asleep, as opposed to the text popping up on our screen.

2) Tutoring purposes. Your new powers and weakness could have been revealed to you by the memories or connection with the other vampires that your dreams seem to have. Much better than throwing new players into possibly frustrating scenarios, and it could add into the game's immersion.

3) Introducing your family in your dreams. Can you imagine going to sleep beside you darling wife only to have a terrifying nightmare of tearing her throat out in your hunger for blood? Or with Hearthfire, dreaming of scaring the crap out of your adopted children when your true nature is revealed to them?

All of these would help drive home the point that vampirism has a darker nature and isn't meant for everybody, as well as adding some sweet new sequences to make a gameplay style feel more unique than a different playthrough.

Well, having read this far, I hope you guys enjoyed seeing how I would prefer this being handled. How would you prefer it? Or did you not like these sequences at all? Whatever your opinion is, let us know about it. I'm really curious about what people have to say on the matter.

I'll sleep when I'm dead.
