One-Handed Perks

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:41 pm

One-handed perk list:

| Armsman (5) - One-handed weapons do 20% more damage.
| -> Hack and Slash (3) - Attacks with war axes cause extra bleeding damage.
| -> Bone Breaker (3) - Attacks with maces ignore 25% of armor.
| -> Bladesman (3) - Attacks with swords have a 10% chance of doing critical damage.
| -> Fighting Stance - Power attacks with one-handed weapons cost 25% less stamina.
| - -> Critical Charge - Can do a one-handed power attack while sprinting that does doublec critical damage.
| - -> Savage Strike - Standing power attacks do 25% bonus damage with a chance to decapitate your enemies.
| - - - > Paralyzing Strike - Backwards power attack has a 25% chance to paralyze the target.
| -> Dual Flurry (2) - Dual weilding attacks are 20% faster.
| - -> Dual Savagery - Dual weilding power attacks do 50% bonus damage.

Armsman is the first perk. It leads to Hack and Slash, Bone Breaker, Bladesman (all three which lead to nowhere), Dual Flurry (which leads to Dual Savagery), and Fighting Stance, which leads to Critical Charge and Savage Strike, both of which lead to Paralyzing Strike.

Awesome, thanks OP. I'm sure this is good news to a bunch of people considering duel wielding.
Clearly these perks can help the damage output and ease concerns over the inability to block.

Pleased with these. I can't wait to get those dual wielding perks, and with that dragon shout that makes you attack super fast, dual wielding will be absolutely lethal.

Awesome, thanks OP. Seems like 1-handed weapons get dual-wield perks compared to 2-handed weapons getting a bit of crowd control with the sideways multi-enemy sweep attacks. I like.

The more I look into this perk thing, the more I think I'll restrain myself from using them at all.

Some are logical... with experience come effectiveness; others feel too much like a power up in a silly action game or simply plain cheating.

I hope that they will announce all the perks and racial abilities/skill increases. It would help a lot of people plan their character, also the racial skill increases don't spoil the game or anything.

Which, if any of these perks apply to daggers? In particular, do Dual Flurry/Dual Savagery apply? TIA.

Dual Flurry/Savagery are for dual wielding. Are you dual wielding the daggers? Then they apply.

Wondering... I'm sure there are level requirements for perks but do you have to take the lower perks in one category to get to the higher perks? For instance if you want Duel flurry but none of the other perks (hypothetical) can you just take that one perk on in the constellation?

No, I'm afraid not. You would have to take at least one rank of Armsman first.

I guess that makes sense.. keeps you concentrating on one skill tree rather than jumping all over the place.

But Armsman doesn't apply to daggers, right? They don't get the extra damage from this perk. Or at least so we were told. What about the other perks? Apart from those specifically linked to swords/axes/blunt, do they all apply to daggers or are there other exceptions?
