Saw that in the Restoration spells list and never heard of it. Anyone?

A restoration spell. There are several of them starting from lesser ward.
This is the ingame description of lesser ward: "increases armor rating by 40 points and negates up to 40 points of spell damage or effects"

What I at least still don't know is if you have to sustain them (like detect life) or if it is a cast-and-forget type of spell.

Edit: wow! first time I ninja'd somebody. Feels good! jaja

A spell that increases your armor and also negates some amount of magical damage that hits you.
Example :
Lesser Ward( the weakest )
40 bonus to armor, 40 negated magic damage

EDIT:
:ninja:

On topic:
You dont have to sustain it. In description it says that the ward need several seconds to activate ( saw that on loading screen in some footage ).

oh, thanks for this bit of info. I'm really struggling to decide between alteration and restoration as my "anti-mages" skill and that helped.
Wouldn't you happen to know if alteration shield/elemental shield spells are sustained? (just trying to figure out the difference between "ward spells" and "shield spells"
